When you think of a Valentine’s Day themed beauty set, what usually comes to mind are kitschy coordinating eye shadow palettes and matching lip glosses or nail lacquers, all wrapped in cutesie heart-emblazoned zip cases. And then when you actually go browsing through the yearly festive selection of V-Day inspired beauty goodies, you usually find that your predictions weren’t so far off. Sure, some themed sets are totally wearable later, when the goal is to not look like a human box of conversation hearts… but you still rarely find a Valentine’s Day set full of strictly practical beauty loot. Let’s put aside for a moment the fact that someone in the UK actually thought it would be a worthwhile use of time and money to commission a study on how many different beauty prodz the average British woman carries in her handbag. Here we go again! Another Sunday in January, another awards show for our celebrity-gawking pleasure: this time, the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards, held yesterday in LA.

At the SAGs, the vibe, and therefore the fashion, is a little more casual than the Globes and the Oscars. So maybe that’s why—surprise!—I have far more praise to dole out today instead of my usual “constructive criticism.”

Who’dve thought they’d seen the day when VH1 reality star Tiffany “New York” Pollard would rock anything but her signature long-weave-and-ample-cleavage combo? The ‘Flavor of Love’ and ‘I Love New York’ star is “so excited” to rock her natural look during an unspecified photo shoot, and she assures us that there is a website coming soon.
