Blogging 101

September 27, 2011 - 3:10 am No Comments

TUMBLR for our vendors, IT IS EASY!  Blogging is an imperative part of any business these days.  Our prospective clients want to see what you have been working on lately and get a glimpse of your personality and your blog is the easiest way to keep things current.  TUMBLR is the easiest format to create a blog that I know of.  Follow these simple steps and you will have your blog set up in less than 30 minutes, I promise.

Before you start gather some photos that you would like to post.  If you don’t have any of your own, contact some of the photographers that have worked on weddings with you and ask them, typically they are more than happy to share as long as you give credit.

Second, decide what you want your blog to say about you.  Right now you have a clean slate to work with, decide the impression you want to make and start working on it.  (How often in life does this opportunity happen???)

Go to https://www.tumblr.com/login
Sign up with your email, a password and your url.  I strongly suggest you use your company’s name for your url.  For the Montana Wedding Guide it is montanaweddingguide.tumblr.com

One of the many great things about Tumblr is that you can create many blogs and manage it from one account.  For example, I have my one account under my name and from a drop down menu I can blog about Montana Wedding Guide, Nashan Photographers, and my husband’s businesses as well.

Now you can create as many blogs as you want and a theme to go along with each.  If you want to get really fancy you can have someone design a page for you that matches your web site, otherwise you can keep it easy and choose one of the ready mades.

Call your web designer, tell them your TUMBLR url and ask them to link it to your web site and voila you are officially in the 21st century!

Once that is set up, you are ready to start blogging.  If you have created more than one blog choose the one you want to write an entry for.  On the top bar you will see a set of buttons giving you the option to add text, photo, quote, link, etc.  I almost always like to blog with photos, so I usually click on the Photo button.  Upload the photo I want, write a little blurb about it and hit the publish button.

If you have questions the Help center at TUMBLR is easy and smart.  Look up your idea and questions.  In our next newsletter we will post some ideas on what to blog about and how to make a blog campaign easy to create and execute.

Lady Gaga Surfs in Mexico in A Sexy Little Black Bikini

August 28, 2011 - 6:59 pm No Comments

She’s known for her outrageous fashion choices on stage, on the runway, and in her “real life,” but Lady Gaga has bouts of normalcy sometimes. A woman who’s no stranger to wearing body suits inspired by one-piece swimsuits out ON THE STREET, we are all shocked to see Gaga out of her egg and surfing in a simple and chic black bikini.

Lady Gaga was photographed taking surfing lessons in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico a few days before she is scheduled to open for the MTV VMA’s – perhaps she is preparing for the multi-million dollar mansion she’s building in Chappaquiddick, an island off of Matha’s Vineyard.

Gaga’s sexy little black bikini, LBB as we like to call them, is a staple piece for every woman’s wardrobe – just like LBD’s (little black dress). Each year designers inno

Best Jeans Tips for His and Her Sexy Look

August 26, 2011 - 5:25 pm No Comments

Jeans are considered to be one of the most versatile pieces of clothing. You can wear them for just any occasion; the only thing that you have to know is which style is the most suitable for your body shape.

Being a plus size

If you happen to be a few sizes bigger than you would like to be, then you should go for the sleek but not painted-on jeggings. In order to achieve the best results you should choose a dark wash but there should be no whiskers.

This way you will have a thinner silhouette. In this situation you could go for the classic boot-cut design. Comfy cargos are also suitable for this kind of body shape. Also when being on shopping, you should keep an eye out for the jeans that have a control-top waist.

Being pear shaped

In case you are looking for a pair of jeans that would make you look taller and would do good things for your curves, then you should go for the high-waist designs. This way you can show off your waist and also you have the possibility to fake long legs. In case there is a little flare about the jeans, it will draw the eyes down.

Regarding the color, you should try the blue jeans with high-waist. The design should be cute and cropped in order to find the jeans that are suitable for your body shape. In case you are looking for a more elegant look you could try the trousers.

Being petite

If you aren’t really tall and you are also a bit curvy then you should go with the straight leg jeans that come in a darker color. This is because these kinds of jeans lengthen the silhouette. Also it is a golden rule that in case you would like to look taller, you should go for high heels with the jeans.

When shopping for the jeans you should be looking for a cool wash. Also the boot-cut jeans are advantageous for your body shape, because they make you look taller than you really are. Don’t forget that you can never go wrong with a slimming rinse.

Being tall

If you happen to be tall, you can make no mistake with the skinny jeans. Also in order to make the best of your figure, you should go with the tapered leg. You could opt for a seventies-inspired pair of jeans as well.

WATCH: Florence Welch Irina Lazareanu Star In Fashion Mockumentary

We love fashion mockumentaries almost as much as we love fashion documentaries, so were really feeling the film Markus Lupfer made for his resort presentation.

The cheeky clip is inspired by old school science movies , and is as funny as it is fashionable. Yes, we like the clothes! As Lupfer explains:

Our resort 2012 collection is centred around classic Markus Lupfer pieces in a pop color palette. There is a focus on stripes and playing with their dimensions and also a sequin sweater range based on the idea of accessorizing with sequin bags.

Cannes ’11: Kirsten Dunst is Girl Hot. Bar Refaeli is Boy Hot. Let’s talk about the difference—and which one YOU aspire to

July 27, 2011 - 6:51 pm No Comments

Okay, maybe hot isnt the correct adjective for Kirsten Dunst. Cute? I think so. Because Im a girl, and girls enjoy things like red lipstick, shoulder-length haircuts, bejewelled hair accessories and mustard-yellow dresses.

Boys, on the other hand, as we discussed a few weeks back when examining the most man-repelling beauty trends, have ahem simpler tastes. Sure, there are a few outliers who actually LIKE IT when you wear griege nail polish, purple eyeshadow, orange lipstick and a top knot—all at once!—but I think its safe to say that some looks are more universally appreciated.

Not that I think you need to consider men at all when you do your hair, makeup and wardrobe. But
