Garnier teams up with TerraCycle to reduce landfill waste

By now, many of us recycle when we can and have separate bins in nearly every room of the house or office. Making it easier for us, Garnier has teamed up with TerraCycle, a company specializing in producing consumer products from post-consumer materials to encourage recycling of personal care and beauty products, which still accounts for one-third of all landfill waste worldwide.

Garnier will also be sponsoring a Personal Care and Beauty Brigade, where individuals and organizations can sign up on garnier.ca (look for the “Go Green With Garnier” link) to participate in collecting packaging of personal care and beauty products, regardless of the brand, and the mega-beauty company will have it collected and shipped to a TerraCycle facility outside of Toronto free of charge, all to help reduce what ends up in our landfills. Garnier Canada will also contribute two cents per package returned to a school or non-profit of the collector’s choice.

Concerned with their products as well as packaging, Garnier also recently rolled out their Garnier Fructis Pure Clean line where the both the shampoo and conditioner are 94% and 92% biodegradable, respectively.

Garnier Fructis Pure Clean is currently available at mass food and drug retailers, $5.29-$7.99.
